LImoux

I'm following up on a request for a map of Limoux! Here's a wee bit of information about our "home town".

More about Limoux HERE

The Aude is an important  river of southern France that is 224 kilometres long. Its source is in the Pyrenees mountains, then runs to Carcassonne and finally reaches the Mediterranean Sea near Narbonne. One of the towns situated on the Aude is our own Limoux. Turn right at the front door and follow the road to the corner and walk to the river and one of the bridges in just a quick minute. You can safely walk along the river or the streets in our area.
Turn left out of the front door of Le Monastere and you will pass several small shops as you head to the main town square. Here you can sit outdoors at a cafe, purchase pastry, fruit, cheese or a bottle of wine.

Each week the market comes to Limoux. That will most likely be an "at home" day as you will enjoy the activities, sights, sounds and wonderful smells. Just off the town square you will find a post office, bank machine, pharmacy and small convenience store, 8à Huit.

Here's a street map of our neighbourhood. The streets are narrow and although it looks to be a distance to the square it's really just an easy three minute walk.

On the day of our arrival, Jamie and I invite you to take a short walking tour of the neighbourhood with us. It has been a few years since my last visit and I'm looking forward to seeing the familiar as well as the changes.

Our home address will be 3 Rue de la Marie, 11300 Limoux, France.

Our hosts are Fabienne Montserrat and Chris Georgas
Fabienne will do some of the cooking for us and Chris will plan our daily excursions and share tales about the interesting history and geographic features. We will also have the most amazing tour guide, driver, translator and friend, during our time together. Isabelle is a true gem and she paints too!

Meet Isabelle!
