Power Up!

As you plan your trip to France it's essential to know about the power plugs and adapters to keep your devices charged and ready to go.  You may need both a voltage adapter and power plugs.

Voltage Adapter:  In France, the voltage is 230 volts, which is higher than the standard 120 volts in Canada and the USA. Voltage adapters are easy to find so you can use your electronics without zapping your electrical appliances.  Click here is see the type of adapter you will need.  This particular style does not need a converter for your power plug.

Power Plugs:  The standard power plugs and sockets are Type E, featuring two round pins and a male grounding pin. As Canadian and American plugs differ (Type A/B), you'll require a plug adapter to fit your devices into French outlets. These adapters are widely available online and in travel stores. Computers and Smart Phone: Please do your own research but everything I could find online indicates that computers and phones do not require voltage adapters.
